A Marshmallow Cloud Warning

This picture has a memorable moment. Hard to believe, but these picture is of clouds. My family and I were on a camping trip, and we were warned by our camping "neighbers" that a big storm was headed our way. Well, we took advantage of that. We spent 15 minutes trying to find a place to keep our firewood dry, from the rains that were planing on flooding our area. You could say that we didn't find the best place, but it was a pretty smart idea. We found that spot underneath the car.Right before the storm came, these clouds blocked the sun in this form. As we looked up, we saw marshmallow like "lumps" in the sky. I took a snapshot and hopped in our blue minivan for shelter from the rains with my family. Soon it started raining cats and dogs. We were all bundled up, hoping nobody would have to go to the bath room during the storm. We were lucky enough for that not to happen to us. 2 hours later, the storm slowly came to a stop. We got out of the car, stepping into puddles the storm had produced. My 4 sisters had gone through something like this before at the same place. That year, a storm came in during the night with strong winds, pulling the tents back and forth. My sister had to come out and try to hold the tent down. They mentioned that it was freezing cold to. I guess our family luck their isn't the best.

Dessie, Sleeping Oldie

This is a picture I took of Dessie, a very old, bossy, crazy 98 year old dog. All though she was not 96 at that time. But every time I look back at the picture it tells a personal story. This was when my mom just bought new dressers for my sisters and I. When Dessie was younger and was able to move around more easily, she would go up on my sisters bed and sleep there for the night. Soon enough Dessie got older and was not able to go up stairs anymore (Unless you wanted to carry a 60 pound dog up the stairs). She lost her ability to get up on her own. Now, when ever she barks, we have to prop her up on her feet. Dessie always wants to be with my mom. Of coarse, my mom was upstairs and Dessie kept barking to go upstairs. One of my sisters got the energy to carry her up the stairs to where my mom was. A couple hours later, I went up stairs to the "construction" room and saw that Dessie was sleeping on the bed like she used to do. I said to my mom "Oh my Gosh! She never doas that any more"!!!I got my camera and snapped a photo realizing that this was probably going to be the last time we were ever going to see her do this. It has been so far.

Lola

This picture is a little blurry because my camera was out of focus. This is Lola. One of the two dogs I have. She is the most energized dog I have aver met. She is also VERY protective over our family. She will pretty much bark the loudest she can at anyone who isn't one of us. When you here that dog bark, you better scoot yourself away or she will get very aggressive. We try to hold on to her as much as possible. She just loves walks. At the time I took this picture, I was being mean to Lola by saying "walk"? When ever you say that word, her ears perk up and she looks all excited. When she does this, she looks so cute. I wanted to take a picture of what she looked like. Well... this is what she looks like. We always have to try to avoid saying "walk" or she will think that you are willing to take her on a walk. And trust me, taking that crazy mutt on a walk is a roller coaster. You have to hold on for dear life if you don't want to lose your friend. The chair she is sitting in, is like her throne. If she ever goes outside, that's where she sits. The cushions are all comfy. I guess that's why she likes it so much. Very comfy for her indeed.

Wild Horses

My family went to Assateague for a camping trip. The wild horses were in most of our stories when we came back to tell our neighbors. One thing you should know before going to Assateague is that the wild horses will wonder onto your camping grounds during the night. I got especially creeped out when I heard the grunts and the "neighs" of the horses. One incident was when my 2 playful horses ran through our camping area. On the bulletin in front of the bathroom was a sign that mentioned "When horses are on property, bang pots and make as muck noise as possable". Well you could imagine what we did when the horses ran in front of us. I hid in the car while my sister did the work. One of my dogs, ran after the horses as if they were a squirrel. She was tied to a leash so she was pulled back when taking the chance of catching the squirrel. When I took this picture, the horses were all the way down the beach. I sowanted to take the picture of the two horses, that gathered all my energy to run down to the horses. This was the picture I got out of all that. Once I took the picture, I could see my family in the distance. Busted. "What were you thinking"? My parents scolded me. At least I got this awesome picture. It was worth it the run and the yelling.

This is just a fun picture that I wanted to share with you. These are panda cupcakes. Hard to believe huh? These were very messy, unprofessional made cupcakes. My friends and I gathered together to make cupcakes for fun. These are how the cupcakes turned out. These cupcakes were pretty complicated to do. We had two cupcakes and had to put them together with icing. Well we were only twelve. You could imagine how confused we were. The hardest part was icing the marshmallow onto the front of the smaller cupcake to make the snout of the panda. If you look closely, you will see that the snouts are lopsided. For me making these cupcakes was the hardest part because it was during lent. Well, I gave up candy/sweets for lent. All the candy we had was sooo tempting. My friends weren't that supportive. You could probably see how hard giving up sweets is when your friends are right their waving a marshmallow in your face.

This is a picture of the table after we were finished baking our little masterpieces. It was so messy. My friends and I thought "How the heck are we going to be able to clean all this up"?
Well... we managed.

This was the the table after we cleaned the total mess. It went by pretty quickly because we had 3 people helping out. If you were at the scene and you looked in between the tiny cracks in the table you would see fruit lopes stuck in between their. Butt this was the best we could do.

The Path to Heaven

This is one of my favorite pictures of all time. It was Thanksgiving day in 2008 and my dad decided to take my sisters and I on a hike. It was very chilly so we were all bundled up in jackets and mittens. My dad drove us to Rock Creek Park for the beginning of our adventure. We were all jumping around trying to keep warm hoping it would make a difference. Every now and then we would stop and look at plants or animal prints on the ground. This particular picture was at the end of our hike, when we were all headed towards our car. Before this, we stopped and looked at the horses up ahead that were outside in there fenced in area. Two of my sisters stayed behind laying down under a tree complaining about when were we going to go home. When we were on this path we were all ready to get into our blue mini-van and get home in front of the fire with a nice cup of hot cocoa. I had my camera in my hand, ready to take any pictures I would want to remember forever. I looked back and just gazed at the sight. "Papa, look", I said pointing behind us. I faced my camera towards the scene and snapped the photo. "That ones a keeper" I said looking at my digital camera at the picture I just took. In this photo, I love the sun peeking through the trees and the path way with the leaves scattered around it. The pathway is getting thinner as you look towards the bright sun. That's where I got the idea to name it "The Path to Heaven". If you look on top of my piano, you will see a painting I did using water color that resembles the picture I took shown above. I love this picture with all the details and the nature that is shown in it.
